Susan Butler

Susan Butler earned her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University School of Law, Bachelor of Science in Modern European Diplomatic History from the University of California at Berkeley, and a teaching credential from Concordia University.

Susan has enjoyed a career in banking and finance law, starting with First Nationwide Bank in San Francisco where she managed a substantial portfolio of commercial real estate-related legal matters. She also represented the bank’s investment subsidiary in several low to moderate income multifamily housing bond issuances. Later, she joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as Senior Counsel managing high asset, complex litigation for institutions in receivership.

In recent years, Susan has been associated with a Newport Beach employment law firm, defending a variety of claims against institutions of higher learning. She enjoys the diverse and dynamic landscape of employment law, with no two cases the same.

For several years she has owned and managed a small education publishing business, authoring several popular life skills programs including a financial literacy series. In her free time, she loves racing sailboats, traveling, hiking, and watching college football.
