Jay Sherman has been conducting workplace investigations since 1997. After a successful civil litigation career, he entered the human resources field as an Employee Relations Manager at Kinko’s, Inc., and later became Vice President of Human Resources at LifeCare Assurance Company. At both companies, Jay conducted numerous workplace investigations. In 2014, Jay opened his own law firm, where he specialized in conducting workplace investigations for both public and private-sector clients.

Jay has been an active member of the Association for Workplace Investigators (AWI) for many years. His work has been published in the AWI Journal, and he has presented at the organization’s annual conference. He has completed all required coursework and passed the rigorous professional examination to earn the AWI Certificate Holder designation.

From 2014 to 2016, Jay taught employment law in the paralegal certificate program at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Jay holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School, an M.A. in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and a B.A., cum laude, from California State University, Long Beach. Outside of his professional work, Jay enjoys international travel with his wife, swimming, and spending time with his family, including his two married children and three grandchildren.
